What a good assignment balances
Every assignment trades one thing against another. The strongest referees should get the hardest games, but they cannot do every game. Everyone needs rest, and nobody wants to sit idle all afternoon. Doing that by hand for a full tournament takes hours, and it is hard to check whether the result is fair.
How autofill works
Matching referees to games
You give each referee an experience level, certifications per category and availability per time slot. Autofill then assigns referees to games based on tier and game difficulty, and it keeps to the rest periods and consecutive game limits you set.

Keeping control
You make the final call
Autofill is a starting point, not a black box. You can assign, swap or remove any referee by hand, before the event or during it. Every admin action is recorded in an audit log.

Referees receive their games by email, with reminders on the annual plans, and can subscribe to an iCal feed so the games appear in their own calendar.

Can I assign referees manually?
Yes. Manual assignment is included in every plan, alongside autofill.
